Sometimes the flower is fading with petals floating down, but God knows the perfect time to gather flowers from the ground. There is a heavenly garden in which God takes great pleasure because He’s placed within it the loved ones that we treasure. He walks among the blossoms giving them eternal rest, And I know that it must please Him because He chose our very best."

My name is Debra. I am Gerald's youngest daughter. I regret to have to share with you that my father passed away on June 27th of this year. I am sorry for not contacting you all sooner, however, I have been slowly going through all his things and found a note that instructed me to notify you. Dad developed Congestive heart failure in February but rallied quite well at first and was home for a few weeks in April and May. It unfortunately progressed quickly after that. He was always in good spirits and my siblings and I spent a lot of time with him through it all. Dad lived with me for these last 5 years so I feel truly blessed to have had all that time with him. We had a lot of fun. He was a really great man and a wonderful Dad and grandfather to 3 grandsons. My brother, sister and I miss him terribly. Please forward this to anyone else you think may want to know.

Thank you - Debra

With Len's passing we have lost a free spirit who was always involved with his RCA Confreres. After retirement he was very much involved in the RCA Globcom Retiree Association. He leaves behind his wife Irene and two children. I am proud to say that I was a friend of Len's and we kept very much in touch over the years. He and his wife visited with us in Florida and we in turn saw them most every time we went to NY. - Submitted by Martin Finkelstein

10/27/2005 - Pasquale 'Pat' Panzarino

Pat worked as a technical supervisor in the overseas control room for over 40 years.  He covered all of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo space missions for the company.  In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the ground support team of NASCOM Networks during the Apollo 11 mission, he earned a metal medallion crafted from actual working components of the lunar lander; Eagle and the lunar orbiter; Columbia.  After his retirement in 1984, Pat became an active member in the RCA Retirement Club. In 2002, 51 years after he finished high school, he proudly graduated from the College of Staten Island with a BA Degree in anthropology.  He was a tireless worker who is missed by his family, friends and co-workers. - Submitted by Frank Panzarino

06/26/2005 - Charlotte Costello

An elite masters swimmer who was inducted into the Hawai'i Swimming Hall of Fame in 2003, died in New York on June 26. She was 82. Costello won many National Masters Swimming Championships, held four world records and captured numerous national records for her age group while living in Honolulu. She was selected as a member of the Masters All-American Team for 17 consecutive years, and won six Masters International Swimming Championships. "She was a wonderful, positive and enthusiastic swimmer," said friend Diane Stowell, who was inducted into the Hawaii Swimming Hall of Fame with Costello in 2003. "She was just fun to have around because she was so competitive. It didn't matter how old she was, she was always willing to try and do anything in the swimming world." In 1984, Costello won five gold medals in the women's 60-64 age group at the U.S. Masters Short Court Swimming Championships at Industry Hills, Calif., capturing the 100-yard breaststroke, 100 individual medley, 100 fly, 50 breast and 50 fly. One year later, Costello won four events at the Masters Long Course Nationals at Providence, R.I., taking the 50- and 100-meter butterfly races, and the 50 and 100 breaststroke races in the 60-64 age group. She set a national mark in the 100 breaststroke. Costello was born Nov. 29, 1922. Several years ago, she moved to New York to be closer to her family. She is survived by husband, John; five sons, John, Jim, Bill, Kevin and Tom; two sisters; two brothers; and nine grandchildren.

04/26/2004 - John C. Farber

The passing of Jack Farber was sad to hear however we all should look back at the time we may have been lucky to spend with him. While in the Personnel Dept. at RCA Jack was always available to help the employees in any way he could, whether it was figuring retirement plans or medical issues, etc. Jack also was one of the charter members and prime movers of the RCA Retiree Northeast Group and gave much time and insight to the continuance of that organization. We shall all miss Jack but just remember that he is in a better place now amusing his old and new friends.  I wish I could see his belly shake one more time when he laughed.  To live in the hearts you leave behind is not to die at all. - Submitted by Marty Finkelstein
